What AltMap uploads

AltMap uploads no usage data. It does not record which applications you switch to, what you map, or how often you use it.

Two operations send an irreversible hash of a hardware identifier: starting a trial, and activating a license. The trial ledger stores that hash on its own, to allow one trial per Mac. The activation ledger stores it against the order it unlocked, to allow two Macs per license. The two ledgers are separate and are never joined. Neither is used for anything else.

About that hash

The hardware identifier is the Mac's platform UUID. Before it leaves your Mac it is combined with a fixed secret value and put through SHA-256, so what we receive is a 64-character string that cannot be turned back into the identifier. We cannot use it to look up your Mac, and it is not shared with anyone.

What stays on your Mac

Your mappings, your license key, your activation record and your settings are stored in AltMap's own preferences on your Mac. None of it is synced, backed up to us, or transmitted anywhere. Removing AltMap and running defaults delete com.sea5star.AltMap removes all of it.

To bring an application forward AltMap has to know which applications are running. It reads that from macOS while it runs, in memory, and never writes it out or sends it.

Buying a license

Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the merchant of record for the sale. Your card details go to Paddle and never reach us — we do not see, handle or store them. Paddle processes your data under its own privacy policy.

From Paddle we receive the order identifier and the email address you used, and we keep them for as long as the license is valid. We need the order identifier to count activations against your license, and the email address to send you the key, to send it again if you ask, and to answer support requests. That address is not added to a mailing list and we send no marketing from it.

Support email

If you write to support@supercyber.studio, we keep the message so we can follow up on it. Support mail is deleted after two years unless it relates to a live license.

What we do not do

Your rights

You can ask what we hold against your order, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Deleting the activation record releases the Macs registered to your license and means we can no longer reissue your key by email, so we will confirm that with you before doing it. Write to support@supercyber.studio and we will answer within 30 days.

To have payment records erased, contact Paddle, which holds them as merchant of record.

Children

AltMap is a developer utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it and the previous version stays available on request. Changes that would broaden what AltMap sends from your Mac will be announced in the application's release notes before the release that makes them.
